After being bullied into purchasing magazine subscriptions by a teenager trying to go overseas, I called Atlantic Circulation (using their cancellation instructions on the back) and asked that my order be cancelled. I had written a check for $258.00 and given the boy $20.00 in cash, as he said he got double points for cash. After sending my documentation and calling the company, I did receive my check back, uncashed. The woman I spoke to said that since their check runs ran once a week, and since the run for that week had already passed, she would issue a check for the $20.00 on the next run. I said "fine" and passed it off as a bad judgment on my part. Imagine my surprise, when 2 weeks later, I received a check for $ 20.00 from Atlantic. So, I deposited it. Not only was it returned UNPAID, I also was charged $ 12.00 by my bank for the returned item. ???? What a freaking rip off!!! I am getting back on the phone and tear someone a new one....
