Entered into a contract to purchase a used 2004 Jaguar VandenPlas with only 43k miles on it and in great condition on Monday, 1/14/2013. I had a 2003 Jaguar X-type that was totaled on Wednesday Jan 2nd so I needed to replace my car. I received the offer to settle from the insurance company on monday jan 14 and was told that I had till the 19th with the rental car to find a replacement for my vehicle. I went to test drive the newer Jag that late afternoon on monday of this week and made the offer which was accepted by this dealership. I was putting 6k down and financing the rest on a 14,488 dollar purchase at a dealership that offers "guaranteed financing" I called and spoke with the finance manager, Doug, several times yesterday and today, wednesday, about the status of my loan, which he told me he hadn't heard back from the lender yet. I called them at 10am, 12:30pm, 2pm and again at 4pm today when he says that he should hear from them by 5pm today, but oh wait, the car had been sold this morning. This is wrong, this is Breach of contract and the worst part is, they knew I was limited in the amount of time I had to find a car and now 3 days into the deal and thinking I bought a car, I am once again looking and almost out of time thanks to them. I told them that we had a contract and they told me "No, what you had was an offer to purchase". Really? This is not a contract when I signed a document that said that I was putting 6k down, financing the rest and they accepted the offer? I stopped looking at other vehicles from other dealers because I entered into a promise to purchase with the stipulation of financing approval and they SOLD the car right from under me WITHOUT informing me they were doing it. BEWARE of this outfit and NEVER do business with this kind of company.
