hi i brought a 3 bed property in Detroit, Michigan through Cicada Overseas Property in 2011, Brian Cross and Marc Smith seem so lovely and honest when the process was going through, they couldn't do enough to help, i paid £27.500 for the property. I was told my property was in a "family friendly suburb" with working class people!
well the first tenant moved in to the newly decorated house in July 2011, by Christmas she had stopped paying her rent! the lovely staff at Turnkey the letting agents dealing with everything tried to resolve the situation, she finally moved out in Jan 2012 after seeing a dumpster and eviction people outside luckily i was not charged for that eviction as Cicada paid calling it " in good faith", so now the property is empty again and Turnkey are looking for new tenants, finally the second tenant moved in, in April 2012, they started messing around with the rent payments in August 2012! so i was back to square one, i would call Cicada, Brain in his patronising way would say its best to call Turnkey when calling then was like talking to a brick wall
In November 2012 i had a inspection carried out by the city of Detroit, i had never heard of this before never been told of one by Brian or anyone at Cicada well there was 13 points that needed to be corrected Brains response " i have never heard or seen one of these before (lucky me)
well by Christmas rent was still being owed and i was financially sending money from the UK, i had to sell the property in mid 2013 for $8.000 i finally received just under 2.000 pounds due to selling cost, eviction and unpaid water rates that the tenants had never paid and Turnkey had never bothered to chase up i am extremely angry about this situation and need help

i understand that i was completely naive about the whole thing and i have learnt a big lesson one that i will not be repeating but that Brain Cross has a slippery tongue and a way with words!
